The Bible exhorts us to pray. 1Thessalonians 5:17 tells us to “Pray without ceasing”. If there was ever a time that the people of God needed the guidance, comfort, hope, and assurance that comes through prayer, surely that time is now.
John tells us “This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us” (1 John 5:14). How can we know we are praying according to God’s will? One sure way is by praying His word.
Our daily devotion for the month of August will be a series of prayers directly from God’s Word. We trust these prayers will inspire you in your prayer time with the Lord and be an encouragement to you in your daily walk.
Make me know Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; For You I wait all the day. Remember, O LORD, Your compassion and Your lovingkindnesses, For they have been from of old. Do not remember the sins of my youth or my transgressions; According to Your lovingkindness remember me, For Your goodness’ sake, O LORD.
(Psalms 25:4-7)
