“God Has Determined”

It was another great lesson this past week!

Diane gave us some important points to consider as she took us through Genesis 40 and 41.

We saw that:

  1. Even as a prisoner, Joseph prospered
  2. Joseph used his position to serve others
  3. Joseph recognized his ability came from God
  4. Joseph gave God all the glory for his success

In each season of adversity we continue to see that Joseph does not waver in his trust of God’s faithfulness. There is much we can learn by studying and emulating the character of Joseph.

Grace and peace,
Diane, Amy Jo, Sandra

The Favor of God

From heartaches to impossible dreams…

This was the focus as we continued our “But God” Bible study.

Diane took us through Genesis 37 and showed us how Joseph experienced the heartache of rejection, betrayal, jealousy, and favoritism; but God had special plans for him. Men plotted against him, but God was working in Joseph’s life and, as we will learn in our future lessons, He used it all for good.

And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28)

We were challenged to remember times that our own lives were invaded by such trials, trials that could have destroyed us…But God…

Heart2Heart Women Begin New Study

On Wednesday Heart2Heart kicked off our fall/winter Bible Study “But God”. What an amazing time we had as more than twenty women came together to study God’s word.

For our first session Amy Jo laid the foundation for our upcoming lessons by taking us through Biblical history from Abraham to Jacob.

In our next session Diane will introduce us to Joseph as she teaches feom Genesis 37. I can’t wait, it is going to be good!

The study group will be meeting each Wednesday for the next eight weeks. If you are in the Mecklenburg/Gaston/Lincoln counties area, we’re just getting started and we would love for you to join us.

Our Faithful and Unchanging God

Joseph declared to his brothers when they sought his forgiveness for having sold him into Egypt: “As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good” (Genesis 50:20). God is able to sweep even the evil intentions of people into the unfolding drama of His purposes for His children. He is faithful and unchanging. Take comfort in His mysterious providence, knowing that He will not allow anything to befall you which will not ultimately be used for your good and His glory. [1]
