“He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion
until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6
If someone asked me what my “life verse” is, Philippians 1:6 would be it. There are days I must come back to this verse…again. Not just read it—but cling to it.
Because if I’m honest, there are moments when I look at myself and think, Why am I still here?
Why do I still struggle with the same things? Why does growth sometimes feel so slow… or even invisible?
It’s easy to start believing the lie that if we don’t see progress, then maybe nothing is happening at all.
And if we’re not careful, that thought quickly turns into frustration… and then into beating ourselves up.
But this verse gently reminds us of something we forget so easily: God isn’t finished. Not with me. Not with you. And more than that—He never starts something He doesn’t intend to complete.
Sometimes we expect growth to look obvious and immediate—like fruit appearing overnight. But God often works in ways we can’t see right away. Roots grow underground long before anything breaks through the surface.
And just because a season feels steady… or even quiet… doesn’t mean it’s stagnant.
Could it be that in the very places where you feel “stuck,” God is strengthening something deeper?
Building endurance? Refining your heart? Teaching you to depend on Him in a way you wouldn’t if everything came easily?
We tend to measure progress by what’s visible, but God measures it by what’s lasting.
In those quieter seasons, when you’re wondering if anything is changing, Let Philippians 1:6 remind you, He is still working—sustaining you when you feel weary, shaping you when you don’t even realize it, and preparing you for what’s ahead.
And maybe the growth right now isn’t loud or dramatic…maybe it looks like choosing patience one more time, turning back to Him a little quicker than before, or simply not giving up.
That’s still growth.
So instead of asking, “Why am I not further along?”
What if we asked, “God, what are You doing in me right now that I can’t yet see?”
Because the truth is, you are not stuck—you are being worked on.
And the same God who began this work in you, is faithful enough… steady enough… patient enough…to finish it.
Not in your timeline. But perfectly, in His.

Even when growth feels invisible, God is faithfully working beneath the surface—and He never leaves His work unfinished.
Lord, thank You that You don’t give up on us, even when we feel discouraged with ourselves. Help us to trust what You are doing beneath the surface, even when we can’t see it. Give us patience in the process, faith in Your timing, and confidence that You are still working. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

This comes in a much needed time, thank you.
